Born in East Germany, Ute Wolff obtained her university degree in textile design in 1999.
Until 2004, she worked as an artistic and scientific collaborator at the University for Art and Design Halle in Germany. Since 2000, her work toured in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Canada and Japan.
Ute Wolff also won design prizes: "Wilhelm Lorch Foundation", Germany, 2000; "Bavarian State Prize", 2001; special mention, "Swiss Design Prize", 2001; special mention, "Saxon State Prize", 2003; "Grand Prix of Design", Montréal, 2007, 2010.
Since 2005, Ute Wolff lives and works in Montreal. 2006-2010, she taught at the Maison des métiers d'art in Quebec City in Jacquard weaving and textil art work.
In 2010, she has a research and creation grant of the CALQ. 2015-2016, she was Tutor in 4th year for the end-of-study projects in industrial design at the Université de Montréal.
In 2016 she becomes selected designer from CODE Souvenir Montréal.
