¿Por qué no humanizar las barreras que nos ha generado el Covid-19 mediante estéticas cuidadas y formas agradables? El diseño debe ser la herramienta de la que valerse para generar productos que respondan necesidades, que a su vez sean atractivos y estéticamente cuidados.
La colección Gema nace bajo esta premisa. Gema se presenta como una colección de mamparas separadoras que nacen como respuesta a la necesidad actual que existe en torno al distanciamiento social en toda clase de establecimientos tras la crisis del Covid-19.
Su diseño se inspira en los acabados de las gemas naturales y se compone de cuatro modalidades de mampara diseñadas de manera sostenible, donde predominan las combinaciones de materiales y colores, mediante el uso de materiales de origen natural, como la piedra, la arcilla y el vidrio.
Los pliegues laterales que presenta cada pieza ofrecen la posibilidad de solapar unas a otras, generando un mayor aislamiento, pero sin perder la versatilidad que ofrecen al poder adaptarse a cualquier tipo de disposición y espacio.
Su carácter monumental convierte a estas piezas en elementos decorativos interesantes para los espacios, una apuesta muy diferenciada de los productos utilizados actualmente donde se responde a una funcionalidad, sin atender en ningún momento a la estética y ética que envuelven los productos.
Se trata de un elemento diferenciador que aporta esa seguridad higiénica tan necesaria en la actualidad, con gran versatilidad de aplicación en todo tipo de espacios, como restaurantes, oficinas, centros públicos e incluso en espacios exteriores gracias a la resistencia del tipo de materiales que lo componen.
Gema busca ser un ejemplo de cómo el diseño va más allá de la funcionalidad, ya que busca humanizar una situación fría y desconocida generando una nueva atmósfera entorno al producto, demostrando que la adversidad es tan bien un campo de juego interesante para el diseño.

The Gema collection is born under this premise. Gema is presented as a collection of partition walls that are born as a response to the current need that exists regarding to social distancing in all kinds of establishments after the Covid-19 crisis.
Its design is inspired by the finishes of natural gems and it includes four types of screen designed in a sustainable way, where combinations of materials and colors predominate, through the use of natural materials, such as stone, clay and glass.
The lateral folds that each piece presents offer the possibility of overlapping each other, generating a greater insulation, but without losing their versatility by being able to adapt to any type of arrangement and space.
Their monumental nature turns these pieces into interesting decorative elements, a very different approach from the products that are currently being used, that responds to a functionality, without paying attention to the aesthetics and ethics that surround the products.
It is a differentiating element that provides that hygienic security that is so necessary today, with great versatility of application in all types of spaces, such as restaurants, offices, public centers and even in outdoor spaces thanks to the resistance of the materials that have been used for manufacturing.
Gema tries to be an example of how design goes beyond functionality. It tries to humanize a cold and unknown situation by generating a new atmosphere around the product, demonstrating that adversity is as well an interesting field for design.
