If you have grown up in the eighties, the restaurant Las chicas, los chicos y los maniquis will be your place! If not, do not worry . . . you can relive it by visiting this emblematic space on Calle Atocha 49 in Madrid.

The graphic identity for the restaurant is an order that we receive from HI Partners. His landing in Madrid could not do anything but pay tribute to the capital: a declaration of love to artists, songs and Madrid of the 80s.

The logo is based on the Caslon Bold Extra Condensed typeface, and incorporates the text “y los maniquís“ emulating the neon signs. It synthesizes the color palette applied in the different rooms of the restaurant that make it up: a marked eighties aesthetic, based on the polka dot pattern and combined with the mannequin legs in collage, symbol and emblem that gives the restaurant its name.

The menu of the restaurant, in a vinyl record sleeve form, is a true tribute to the posters and designers of the 80s in Spain: Juan Gatti, Carlos Berlanga, Óscar Mariné, and emblematic films by Almodóvar .

and following this creative theme, we ended up intervening in the space, designed by El Equipo Creativo, generating typical Madrid business signs with the names of the great actresses and great actors of the Almodóvar filmography: Rossi, Marisa, Verónica, Eusebio, Antonio, Chus .

to finish in the patio with great declarations like: “Qué pico tiene la Pepa” or “Qué heavy eres Juana”. We completed the passage that articulates the different spaces of the restaurant singing “Sí, yo comí, enamorado de la carta que hay aquí, de las tapas, de los platos, de los postres hasta morir, enamorado de ti”, as we head towards the Hotel Axel Madrid, which is housed in the same building, and for which we made room service, breakfast and sky bar menus.
