Visual Identity Design for Bizinahi

This is the proposal design for the visual identity of Bizinahi, a socio-cultural space located in Bilbao. The project is composed by the design of the main logo for the association, and different communication aids as flyers, pamphlets or visit cards.

Historically, Bizinahi has been a fabric of chains, destined for boats that came to Bilbao while the industrialization of the city. Nowadays, the fabric is being rebuild in a socio-cultural space which promotes different activities for the neighborhood.

The project is based on the historical value of the fabric, and that is why the chain is the main image of the visual identity. I have used a letter from the logo to represent that element, and I have created a combination that symbolize a chain than must be broken for seeing what is inside of both the flyer and the pamphlet.

The color used is connected with the meaning of Bizinahi, which in basque language means “the desire to live”.

My name is Laura Freijo, and I am from Bilbao. Since I'm little I have been learning how to understand the amazing world of the art and the design and I'm still doing it. For me designing is more than just a job.

It is doing things that will be innovative and creative, things that can bring something new to this world full of images. To be a designer is to be up to date whit everything, moving around and choosing what is interesting to you and what needs to change.
