Carmen Sabater is a Fine Arts student in the Polytechnic School of Valencia (UPV) and Fashion student in Superior School of Art and Design (EASD) of Valencia. City where he currently resides and works.
If we take a look at her work, we can observe a multidisciplinary artist, which have as a central objective the experimentation with traditional techniques and its application to design.
She have participated in some collectives exhibitions with other artists, showing part of his paintings. She has also had the opportunity to show her work on other supports, such as mural painting or body painting.
We can also see her work present in the world of fashion, which is closely related to her work as an artist. This one can be observed in the adaptation and application of her personal illustrations to textile design.
Either through traditional techniques, such as screen printing, or in her digital work. Interlacing both techniques, with the intention to create a fresh and innovative result. She thinks that graphic and expression techniques are not incompatible with illustration and design.
In terms of style, we could say that it varies in relation to the moment, the mood or simply depending on the scope of work. But even so, we can recognize some common characteristics, such as the use of a loose and expressive gesture provided from the graphic terrain, but can be perfectly adapted to the design field.
Speaking of technique, the work methodology always starts from a traditional work. Highlighting the mixture of different techniques (pencil or bar, as well as wet technique, interspersed with collage technique and the use of transfers).
Creating different textures and graphic resources that provide expressiveness and movement to their creations. Focusing the drawing on different projects closer to the field of design and illustration, as well as being a piece of art itself.
