Sanne Schuurman (1989) is a designer, art-director, and one of the co-founders of Eindhoven-based Envisions—a creative collective of 26 multi-disciplinary designers with a shared fascination for experimental material research. She founded the collective back in 2016 with two fellow students from the Design Academy in Eindhoven.
With Envisions’ progressive projects (e.g. an experimental collaboration with global wood manufacturer Finsa) she has been bridging the gap between visionary designers and industries ever since.
‘I think a designer is a connector and collaborator. You need to be able to dive into different worlds and be able to gather useful knowledge to apply to your processes.
As soon as you start to collaborate and open up your practice – like an open source – you can achieve things on a bigger scale, joining forces instead of wandering around in your own imagination.’
