M-Mod Specs is a pair of modular spectacles with interchangeable frame fronts. Fitted with a variety of shapes and shades, M-Mod’s funky frame fronts snap easily onto the frame body.

Frame fronts act as visual filters, adding swatches of colour and texture to each look. M-Mod Specs is a play on our sense of sight by altering our visual perception of reality. The snap-on-snap-off nature of M-Mod allows for a larger eyewear collection without having repeated parts, reducing waste.

Environmental consciousness aside, M-Mod Specs also explores eyewear as identity or fashion rather than as a visual aid. M-Mod Specs are pure fun and silliness.

Karyn Lim trained in Industrial Design at the National University of Singapore (NUS), with a semester spent at ENSCI - Les Ateliers, Paris. Her final year project, ‘Transformation Bags’ were a part of ‘The Alchemists’ that showcased 15 contemporary designers from Singapore.
