Introducing the OurAbility Connect Dashboard Design, a transformative solution aimed at empowering individuals with disabilities on their journey to employment success. In today's world, approximately one-fifth of the global population faces various disabilities, which often pose significant challenges in accessing services and opportunities available to those without disabilities. OurAbility recognized this pressing issue and embarked on a mission to create an inclusive and accessible job connection platform.
Over two years ago, we embarked on an extensive service design process that began with enhancing the existing OurAbility Job Dashboard. This overhaul involved the integration of new accessible components and the creation of a new information architecture. Our primary focus was to ensure the seamless integration of new services, resulting in a web and dashboard user interface that is highly accessible to all individuals.
One of our standout features is the integration of an AI chatbot system that operates in harmony with the new job dashboard. This chatbot streamlines the job searching and matching process through conversational interactions, offering a more intuitive and accessible experience. Our design journey involved in-depth research, including the study of various chatbot services, user attitudes, and the incorporation of logical flows and accessible UI elements.
Furthermore, we reimagined the existing job connection dashboard by integrating accessible UI elements, the AI chatbot, and comprehensive accessibility features catering to different domains such as vision, learning, mobility, and mental abilities. This transformation has turned the OurAbility Connect Dashboard into a truly inclusive job connection service.
Our usability testing results have been exceptional, with an 80% improvement in user satisfaction and significant enhancements in task completion times. Since launching the MVP service early last year, OurAbility has successfully partnered with 71 companies, serving over 2,000 active users, and featuring thousands of daily job postings. The dedicated team at OurAbility continues to drive the development of the final version of the Connect Job service, set to be released in late 2024, with the ultimate goal of turning dreams into reality for individuals with disabilities.
