The AR artwork Beyond Matter depicts digital scans of human bodies, embededin artefacts of a highy technologized world. The installation consists of5 screens with video footage of the aforementioned scanns.
Paired with anaugmented reality app, these works can be scanned to extend the digital compositions into the analogue space, thus letting the viewer approach his virtualcounterpart.
We ask the question what will stay when we delve into the digital world, willour bodies remain the same? What happens to humanity that interacts moreand more with digital media, sharing its most intimate moments with a machine?How will our definition of identity change? Do we become machinesin a body, living in solidarity while always connected to other individualsexisting in this techno world?When approached with the phone, the humans in this artificial world seem tospeak to us, want to touch us and hold us close.
