Label and packaging design for Txakoli Uixar

Laura Freijo

This is a proposal for the label and packaging design for the Txakoli Uixar (a type of Basque white wine). The winery of The White Wine Uixar is located in Larrabetzu, next to the renowned restaurant of Eneko Atxa and near of the famous mountain called Anboto, which can be seen from there.

The silhouette of the Anboto is the main image of the label, for its big relevance for the people who work there, as it is the first thing they see every day when they arrive to the winery.

The label is designed to create the idea that you can see the wine from the mountain, as they can see the mountain while they produce it. It also includes a thin golden stripe, which symbolize the elegance and color of the wine.

The packaging is based on the same idea. At first sight it looks completely white, but it is cutted with the shape of the mountain so when you break and open it, it lets you see the form of the Anboto.

It is a game between the pack and the label: in the first one it is you who rip it while in the second one it is already cut.

It is to be…
