Madrid

After graduating from the architecture school in Syracuse University I decided to move to Panama to continue my career in architecture. I was able to work in different residential projects as well as retail.

I started to participate more and more in the interior design aspect of each project which helped me realized how much interest I had in that matter. After working in Panama for two years, I made the decision of moving back to my hometown of Madrid in Spain.

I realized that the industry had created a horrible hierarchy for people my age in which we were deemed interns until we were 28 so I started to see what the possibilities were to become freelance.

My first solo project was Asia Asako. A Japanese/Vietnamese fusion restaurant that was trying to break culinary barriers. This was a great opportunity to allow for my own design career to not only grow but also learn about what barriers it had and to break them down one by one.

This project was finished in October of 2018 and since then I have been working on different residential projects with a particular interest in creating spaces that are flexible and inclusive.

Being able to use design as a way to break social norms is something that I am very passionate about and I believe that the more I let my knowledge in the matter grow and the more projects I have, the more I will be able to break those barriers down and create unique and welcoming spaces.
