Asia Asako (Restaurant)

Using the basic design tools of Feng Shui a good balance between material and ornamentation was found. References from street food and Asia mix together to give the restaurant a fun and inclusive atmosphere for an audience ready to try new and classic flavors of Asia.

Honoring the concepts of Asian design that has been around for longer than 3 centuries. A color palette that includes shades of oranges, yellows and gray help stabilize the Feng Shui of the restaurant and allow for the food to become the main character of this culinary story.

Since the space that we had to work with was so limited, one of the main focus of the project was to allow for the materials and the finishes to visually expand the space. Using mirrors on the longest wall, allowing for the facade to be mostly glass or leaving as much of an open plan as possible were some of the strategies that were implemented.

After graduating from the architecture school in Syracuse University I decided to move to Panama to continue my career in architecture. I was able to work in different residential projects as well as retail.

I started to participate more and more in the interior design aspect of each project which helped me realized how much interest I had in that matter. After working in Panama for two years, I made the decision of moving back to my hometown of Madrid in Spain.
