SEAKING

Javier Serra Alonso

SEAKING is a board game in which you must explore the ocean floor in search of treasures and compete with others training memory and all your senses. Its design encompasses a wide range of creative skills, materials, shapes and colors in order to create a multisensorial experience, from the power of touch to the ability to observe.

Apart from including cards and references that raise awareness about ocean waste, the main hidden objective of the game is to make visible the importance of corals in the marine world, with a strong weight in the dynamics of the game.

All this sends us a clear message: "the sea is a treasure"The objective was to create an original board game, suitable for all audiences and that would take advantage of design aspects in its game operation.

For this, an attempt was made to give life to the 5 senses through the design of the pieces and instructions of the game. Dragged by the theme of the ocean floor, a board game was created recreating a treasure hunt, thus fostering competition, logic and intrigue.

The design of the cards, instructions and final packaging was carried out using Procreate and Adobe Illustrator, preparing the files for their materialization in an imprint specialized in board games.

The pieces of treasure and the cardholders were 3d printed using recycled PLA of different colors. The final design has emerged after several prototypes of pieces and game experiences of different users to adjust the instructions and packaging of the game.
